Congratulations to the following World Taekwondo students on receiving their Dan promotions today Saturday 6th September in Adelaide after an exciting and demanding grading test that lasted 3 hours. Timothy Sarah, Anthony Robinson, Jack Krause, Jake Farrugia and Brenton Bickerstaff were promoted to 1st Dan Black Belt and Robert Hughes was succesful at achieving the 3rd Dan Black Belt.

Hundreds of students gathered in Nenagh in April this year to share a weekend of training and celebrations with the visiting Masters from Australia. Masters Wahid and Carol Halimee, Senior Instructors Patrick Matthews and Murray Forbes were joined by Senior Instructor Ghazi Halimee from the Middle East to celebrate the 10th Year Anniversary of World Taekwondo in Ireland. Master Wahid presented Senior Instructor Sheamus O'Neill (Head Instructor World Taekwondo Ireland) with a plaque to commemorate the event. Master Wahid acknowledged the dedication, loyalty and strong leadership of Instructor Sheamus and thanked all World Taekwondo Members for their continued support. View photos..
A number of World Taekwondo members from Ireland succesfully completed their Black Belt Grading Test in April this year. Senior Instructor Sheamus O'Neill has done a tremendous job preparing the students for their test. Spectators commented about the rigour of the exam but were all very pleased with the outstanding achievements of the participants. Instructor Eric Cohen was promoted to 2nd Dan Black Belt at the March 2008 Grading Test in Adelaide. In extreme heat conditions Inst Eric demonstrated great physical endurance and ability to perform his World Taekwondo skills against multiple opponents from all different ranks. His test included the performing of various Forms, Sparring, Power Breaking and Self Defence. Instructor Eric thanked Master Wahid for all his teachings and support during the last few months while he was preparing for his test and thanked his own Instructor Senior Inst Patrick Matthews for teaching him. Master Wahid received promotion to 6th Dan Hapkido Master during his last visit to Korea in early July this year. He was also appointed as the official representative for the World Hapkido Martial Arts Federation for Australia, Ireland and the Middle East. Master Wahid is the first non-Korean Master to be awarded the 6th Dan Black Belt in Hapkido by Grand Master Don Oh Choi the President of the Federation.
